What is Rivetide?
Rivetide is based in Jacksonville, where the St. Johns River meets the Intracoastal, and works the entire St. Johns River corridor. That's where the name starts: the meeting of river current and ocean tide.
There's a second layer. "Rive" is an old word that means to split open, to reveal what's underneath. So Rivetide isn't just river plus tide. It's the idea of splitting something open to find what's true, then letting that clarity carry you forward rather than fighting it.
RiveTide isn’t just where the river meets the tide. It’s the moment clarity and momentum come together.
rive·tide /ˈrīvˌtīd/
The meeting of a river's current and the ocean's tide.
Rive (archaic verb): to split open, to tear apart, to reveal what lies beneath.
A moment of alignment in which what is uncovered and what moves forward work together rather than against one another.
The process of splitting open a brand to reveal its authentic core, then allowing that clarity to direct strategy, marketing, and growth.
That’s what RiveTide does. We uncover the truth beneath the brand, then build everything from there.
Why the River?
RiveTide takes its name from the St. Johns River, one of the few major rivers in North America that flows north.
It doesn’t flow north because it’s trying to be different. It flows north because that’s where the landscape leads.
There’s something worth paying attention to in that.
Businesses are often told to chase trends, copy competitors, or follow whatever everyone else is doing. But the strongest organizations aren’t built by moving in someone else’s direction. They’re built by understanding who they are, where they’re going, and having the confidence to follow that path.
The St. Johns reminds us that progress isn’t about moving with the crowd. It’s about moving with purpose.
That’s the philosophy behind every strategy, every photograph, every brand, and every story we create.
Find the Current. Follow the Tide.
the Founder
JEnnifer Shatzer
For more than twenty years, I’ve helped businesses tell clearer stories.
My career has taken me through communications, marketing, brand strategy, content development, and business operations across industries ranging from hospitality and entertainment to healthcare, nonprofits, and professional services. No matter the industry, I kept seeing the same pattern: good businesses struggling to communicate what made them worth choosing.
Most businesses don’t need more marketing.
They need more clarity.
That’s the idea behind RiveTide.
I believe every business has something real worth seeing. My job is to help uncover it, shape it, and give it a voice people can understand. Whether that’s through brand strategy, messaging, photography, content, or creative direction, the goal is always the same: helping businesses close the gap between what they are and how they’re seen.
When I’m not working with clients, you’ll usually find me somewhere near the water. The St. Johns River has shaped much of my life and eventually inspired the name RiveTide itself. The river moves with purpose. It doesn’t chase attention. It simply knows where it’s going.
That’s how I believe businesses grow, too.
The Rivetide principals
Find the truth before the tactic.
Every strategy begins by understanding what already exists, not by inventing something new.
Build trust before attention.
Visibility matters. Credibility matters more.
Create systems that last.
We’d rather build something sustainable than something viral.
Move with purpose.
Like the river that inspired our name, we believe momentum comes from knowing where you’re going.
Leave things better than you found them.
Whether we’re photographing a product, refining a brand, or developing a strategy, our goal is always the same: create something that continues to serve long after we’re gone.
EVERY BUSINESS HAS A STORY.
Tell us where you are, where you’re trying to go, and what’s standing in the way. We’ll bring the curiosity, strategy, and perspective needed to uncover what makes your business worth choosing.
